AMDG Financial Welcomes Ken Porter

If you follow AMDG Financial on Instagram, you may have seen our newest employee, Ken Porter, pop up in the feed. A soon-to-be graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Ken joined AMDG Financial’s Operations Department in September. Ken is taking over for Lisa Titus, who has stepped back from her role to pursue other interests, including painting, teaching, and learning dressage (a style of horseback riding). “I will miss working with all of our clients,” says Lisa, “but after 13 years, I’m ready for some new adventures. Ken is already jumping in and learning all about our clients and our culture, and we are thrilled to have him as a part of the team!”

A native of the Chicago area, Ken came to AMDG Financial from Universal On-Demand in Romulus, where he has worked as a senior operations coordinator for more than two years while going to school. “I can’t wait to learn more about the advising and investing process,” says Ken. “The things we learn in school are very different, yet similar, to the things we work on in the real world, and I can’t wait to put my book knowledge into action.”

You may hear from Ken when it’s time to schedule your next appointment with AMDG Financial. In addition, he will be supporting the advisers and our operations team by managing tasks in Junxure, our operations software, setting up client accounts, and making sure our administrative flow in the office never loses a beat.

New call-to-actionWhen he’s not at work, Ken admits he loves playing video games. He’s also a big Chicago Bulls fan, and has recently become interested in weight training and fitness – which is probably a good thing, because part of his job orientation involved lunches with co-workers around town!

Ken’s desire to contribute to the community made him the perfect fit for our team. “I feel incredibly fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to go to college and get an education,” he says. “I believe it’s my responsibility to give back to the community, and I hope I can use my knowledge to have a small part in making someone’s life better. AMDG Financial’s goals and beliefs feel closely aligned to my own, and I felt that working here would be a good way for me to make an impact.”

Next time you’re in the office, please stop by Ken’s desk to say hi. And, don’t be surprised if you still see Lisa once in a while. (We’re not letting her go that easily!) We’re excited to welcome Ken, and look forward to helping him grow in his new role.
